- Tokyo MOU PSC Concentrated Inspection Campaign (CIC) in 2008(Aug.22,2008)

Tokyo MOU is planning PSC Concentrated Inspection Campaign (CIC) in 2008 from 1st September to 30th November, 2008.
Items of the inspection are intended to SOLAS Chapter V, Safety of Navigation.

- Australian Maritime Crew Visa Required from Jan. 1, 2008(Dec.17,2007)

Sea crew arriving in Australia from January 1, 2008 will be required to hold a Maritime Crew Visa.
A fine of AUD$5000 may be issued to the ship's Master or agent for every foreign crew member in breach of the requirement. In addition, crew will be restricted on board the vessel while it is in Australia.

- Abolishment of Special Requirements for Inmarsat-C of Singapore Flag Ships(Oct.16,2007)

Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore has notified that the Authority does not require "to define the secondary position for initiating Inmarsat-C distress alerting" on a mandatory basis. < Details are shown on below site.>

- Tokyo MOU PSC Concentrated Inspection Campaign on ISM Code(Aug.1,2007)

Tokyo MOU is to conduct PSC Concentrated Inspection Campaign (CIC) on ISM Code. This campaign is for cargo ships over 500 G/T and all passenger ships applied to ISM Code.
Purpose : To verify the effective implementation of SMS on board ships.
Campaign period : From 1 September to 30 November 2007.
It should also be noted that other MOUs including Paris MOU and USCG may also join the campaign. < Details are shown on below site.>

According to the resolution, traffic account of Inmarsat terminals onboard Panama-flagged vessels must be handled by Accounting Authorities or providers duly registered and operative in Panama. Details are described in ARTICLE 11 and 12 on below resolution.
- Changing validity of Radio License for Panamanian vessels. (Consulate General of Panama)(Apr.12,2006)

As of April 17, 2006, pursuant to the Resolution No.106-13-DGMM, the first provisional Radio License be granted 6 months of validity.
And the extension of Radio License is valid for 3 months as before.The notice by Consulate General of Panama in Japan(Apr.12,2006)
- Partical change of items of Reporting on the Security Information of Ships. (Japan Coast Guard)(Nov.01,2005)

Based on the law for the security of ships and of port facilities which come into force on 1 July 2004, all ships which come from foreign port and intend to enter Japanese port are required to report their security information to designated Japan Coast Guard office 24 hours before entering into the port.
From 1 November 2005, some items of Reporting on the Security Information of Ships have been changed partially.Details are shown on Japan Coast Guard's site.

The Inmarsat-A service will be moved from the current Atlantic Ocean Region West (AOR-W) satellite located at 54 degrees West, to the Pacific East (PAC-E) satellite located at 98 degrees West on January 8th 2006 at 14:00 UTC.
Users of the Inmarsat-A service in the AOR-W will therefore need to re-point their antennas in order to continue accessing the service.
The planned change, which ONLY affects Inmarsat-A services in the AOR-W, is a result of Inmarsat needing to position the new I-4 Flight 2 satellite at the location of the current I-3 satellite over AOR-W.Details are shown on INMARSAT's site. http://support.inmarsat.com/announce/inm_a_transition.aspx

- Communication with Group companies of Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. was held.(Aug.05,2005)

On August 5, at the office of Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd., Minato-ku, Tokyo, with 20 participants in charge from group companies of Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. of Tokyo, we exchanged information about recent Maritime communication.
Our Maritime Department explained the following, and we had active question and answer session.
1) Improvement example of "Marine Helper" ver1.1.
2) The record of communication charge of managing vessels in the first half of this year, and information for management, analysis on vessels under our contract with grouping sheets by types of vessels and G/T.
3) Procedures of activation and deactivation of Inmarsat IDs and latest issues of Maritime Communication.
Then, we organized social gathering at the banquet on the 15th floor. Having 40 participants include source of Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd, we exchanged opinions.
- Concentrated Inspection Campaign on Radio Distress and Safety Sysrem(Jul.26,2005)
The 22 Maritime Authorities(EU Members together with Canada, Croatia, Iceland, Norway and the Russian Federation) of the Paris MOU(The Paris Memorandum of Understanding on Port State Control) will carry out a Concentrated Inspection Campaign with the purpose to ensure that the ship's radio station complies with GMDSS. It will commence on 1st September 2005 and will last 3 months, concluding on 30th November 2005. It is expected that approximately 4000 inspections will be carried out. < Details are shown on Paris MOU's site.>

According to the Resolution, all kind of Inmarsat terminals onboard Panama-flagged vessels must be handled by its Accounting Authority assigned on Patente(Ship’s registry) from its application of Activation to accounting settlement.
